Soils

   The soil type of Alaminos belongs to the Eutropepts-Tropudalfs Association to which the Lipa series is included. It is characterized by a thick argillic horizon with maximum soil depth of 1.8 meters. The soil is reddish or yellowish red in color with moderately strong, fine to medium angular to su-angular blocky structure. The texture is fine clayey and found to sticky and plastic when wet. In terms of permeability, the inflation rate is moderate as manifested by its clayey structure.

    The type of soil is normally found on very steep to normally dissected volcanic mountain landscape. The principal land-use of this series is for coconut associated with forest trees, fruit trees, cogon grasses with patches of root crops .
